All Alone?
As the world seems to open up a little more each week, we are seeing the many levels of how the pandemic is affecting so many. One of the sometimes unseen or talked about concerns is the loneliness epidemic. Separation and isolation for the sake of being safe has created deeper issues.
For some of us, it looks like anxiety, depression, or social fears that lead to even more isolation. School-aged kids and adults alike are struggling to connect with others…struggling to even want to. Maybe you or your kids have been there. It’s tough to crawl out.
In different seasons in my life, I have learned loneliness is not aways the absence of people around you. Many times it’s how you experience what is going on around you.
I could be in a crowded room or a houseful of people and still feel very much alone.
Alone in my circumstances. Alone in my feelings. Alone.
While surrounded by people who love me, I’ve struggled recently with deep isolation and loneliness. This is where the enemy wants us.
Isolated. Scared. Confused. Defeated. Hopeless.
It’s in this place where we stop believing God’s Word. Maybe you need the reminder of God’s Word today like I do.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5b
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10
If you are in a season of loneliness, I know it hurts. As you pray for your children, He sees you. As you lay awake at night, carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, He sees you. And, He LOVES you!
Believe Him and His words, not your circumstances.
In the middle of the lonely, let our focus be Isaiah 41:10.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Only God can fill the moments that are tough or exhausting with His peace. Lean into the loneliness…lean into the ache…wait for Him. He will strengthen you.
Join the Tribe.
It’s nice to have friends to journey through life with together. I’d love to connect with you.

You know, Tyler, it is so true that no matter how busy you are, how much you do for others, there can still be that feeling of being alone. No one can help ease that sense, but GOD. I am so thankful that even when this happens I can believe that HIS love and strength is more than enough…. even sometimes through tears, HE IS HERE
Thank you for this. I thought I was the only one who felt like this. Most of my life ive had that feeling.. to be in a room full of people… sometimes my own family and feel all alone. I wasn’t able to put it into words. You did a beautiful job. God bless your faithfulness.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep Romans 12:15 ….. because we are all part of one body the experiences of one member of the body whether ,joy or sorrow are experienced by all. God never intended for any of his children to laugh or cry alone . Thanks Tyler .
