True Love
Yesterday social media was flooded with LOVE! Couples sharing admiration for each other and public displays of affection. Did you feel extra love yesterday or was it a tougher day for you?
Kids at my daughter’s school exchanged candy and Valentines this week. They also had the opportunity to buy a flower to be delivered to a classmate. My girl was over the moon that she received a couple of carnations from friends. When I asked her why it made her so happy, she said, “they are so pretty but it also feels good to know I’m loved!”
On some level, I believe that desire is in each of us. We were made to love and to be loved.
But what if we aren’t getting the outward love…the flowers, candy, or attention from someone, maybe anyone. Is it possible to feel loved?
What if we are hurting through loss? Is it possible to feel loved?
Enter in the greatest love, our Creator, the one who knows what your emptiness might feel like.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
For God so loved. You…and me!
He is the one that satisfies with an unconditional love that promises to never leave you or forsake you. A love that isn’t based on anything you have or haven’t done. It isn’t based on how others see you. It doesn’t need to measure up. A love that is true and real and trustworthy.
When the world doesn’t give us the “feels” we desire, let’s turn our gaze to Him. He is love.
Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10
It feels good to know that you are loved.
You are fully loved today by the one who knows you. May He fill the empty spaces in our heart with His love and peace so that it overflows.
